The Latvian Radio Amateur League invites all radio amateurs
to take part in a VHF Contest dedicated to the anniversary of
proclamation of the Republic of Latvia
Contest period:
14th November 2009, 20:00 - 21:59 UTC.
Competitors:
All radio amateurs. Foreign stations should make at least one contact with Latvia
(YL).
Frequencies,
Modes:
144-146 MHz band, CW, SSB and FM simultaneously, according to the IARU
Region 1 band plan.
Operating:
Repeated QSOs allowed after 30 minutes irrespective of mode. Mixed-mode, MS,
EME and contacts through active repeaters are not valid.
Exchange:
RS(T) + QSO number starting with 001 + own Locator, e.g. 59(9)001 KO26AA.
Scoring:
One point for every km of distance between stations, but 20 points per QSO if the
distance is less than 20 km. For each new Locatorsquare (e.g. KO26) add 500
bonus points.
Categories of
competion:
Latvian stations: multi operator all modes;
single operator all modes;
single operator phone (SSB and FM).
Foreign stations: multi operator all modes;
single operator all modes.
Logs:
Computer logs in EDI format are preferred but not mandatory. You may also send
your log as a plain text file.
Paper logs should be made according to IARU Region 1 recommendations.
The recommended logging software is Logger by SM0LCB.
Logs should be mailed within 15 days after the contest.
Log submission implies a signed declaration that all contest rules and regulations
for amateur radio in the country have been observed.
Awards:
Latvian stations
Winners in each Category will be awarded prizes and diplomas. Second and
third places will be awarded diplomas if the category will have more than 5
entrants. There will be a special surprise for the best single operator FM-only.
Foreign stations
Best foreign station in each category will be awarded a prize.
Best station in each country in each category will be awarded a diploma.
